Dr. Morris Nejat is an assistant clinical professor of pediatrics at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons as well as at New York University Medical College. He graduated cum laude from Drew University in New Jersey and obtained his medical degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, New Jersey Medical School. His internship and residency in pediatrics were completed at North Shore University Hospital, Cornell University Medical College. His allergy/immunology fellowship was performed at the R.A. Cooke Institute of Allergy at St. Lukes/Roosevelt Hospital Center, Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. Dr. Nejat is Board Certified in pediatrics and has received appointments in pediatrics at St. Lukes/Roosevelt Hospital Center and Bellevue Hospital Center in New York City. Dr. Nejat is frequently quoted in the media, including NBC news, Fox News, WB11 News, ABC news and numerous consumer publications. He also frequently lectures to physicians and consumers on the topics of allergy, asthma, eczema and food allergies.
Dr. Erin Banta graduated with a bachelor of science from Cornell University and went on to receive her MD from the State University of New York at Buffalo. She completed both her residency training in Internal Medicine and her fellowship in Allergy and Immunology at Penn State University in Hershey, PA. Dr. Banta is board certified in Internal Medicine and Allergy/Immunology. She is a member of the American Academy of Asthma, Allergy and Immunology and the American College of Asthma, Allergy and Immunology. Dr. Banta sees both adults and children.
Dr. Joanne Moreau graduated from New York University and received her medical degree from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry. She completed a residency in Pediatrics at the University of Chicago in Chicago, Illinois. Dr. Moreau then completed a fellowship in Adult and Pediatric Allergy and Immunology at North Shore - Long Island Jewish Health System in Great Neck, New York. She holds active membership in the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma, & Immunology, the American College of Allergy, Asthma, & Immunology, American Academy of Pediatrics, New York Allergy and Asthma Society, and the World Allergy Organization. Dr. Moreau is board certified in Pediatrics and in Allergy/Immunology and provides care for both children and adults.
Dr. Payel Gupta is an allergist, pediatric allergist, immunologist, and internist treating patients in New York City and the surrounding communities. She holds certification from the American Board of Allergy and Immunology, the American Board of Internal Medicine, and the American Board of Pediatrics. Dr. Gupta is also a member of professional organizations including the American College of Allergy and Immunology, the World Allergy Organization, and the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology.
For her undergraduate degree, Dr. Gupta attended the University of Michigan. She pursued her medical degree at the Michigan State University College of Human Medicine. Dr. Gupta continued her medical education at the Rush University Medical Center, receiving her residency training in internal medicine and pediatrics. Dr. Gupta has also completed a fellowship program in allergy and immunology at the State University of New York, Downstate Medical Center. Patients visiting Dr. Gupta can receive a full range of medical services. She provides allergy consultations, pediatric allergy consultations, sick child visits, and general consultations. Treatment is available for issues including sinus problems, food intolerance, eczema, rash, hives, and immunodeficiency.
Dr. Yelena Kopyltsova is a compassionate internist specializing in allergies and immunology. Dr. Kopyltsova is trilingual, speaking English, Russian, and Ukrainian fluently. Her compassion is exemplified while treating patients as well as within her community outreach. In the aftermath of September 11, Dr. Kopyltsova worked with the Children’s Grief Management Program, volunteered at the Beth Israel Medical Center as an emergency room volunteer, and at the Methodist Hospital working in the acute psychiatric unit. She is Board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and is currently serving patients as a consultant in the Memorial Sloan Kettering Center in their Urgent Care Center in New York City.
Dr. Kopyltsova treats various illnesses, such as urticaria and angioedema, anaphylaxis and allergies, ear infection, hoarseness, animal allergies, emphysema, food intolerance and allergies, and drug allergies. She provides services including CT scans, allergy testing, pulmonary function testing, and allergy shots. In her spare time, Dr. Kopyltsova enjoys reading, gardening, playing badminton, knitting, hiking, and traveling.
Dr. Sharon Yee is a native of New Jersey. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Boston University and a Master’s of Science in Biomedical Science from University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ). She later earned her medical doctorate from UMDNJ, and completed a residency in Internal Medicine at Einstein-Montefiore Medical Center. She is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Dr. Yee completed a fellowship in Allergy and Immunology at National Jewish Health/University of Colorado, which is the nation’s leading respiratory hospital. She has been involved in multiple translational and clinical research projects, which have included studies in food allergy, drug allergy and asthma. She is a member of the American Academy of Allergy and Immunology (AAAAI) and the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology (ACAAI). Dr. Yee specializes in treating an array of allergic and immunological disorders, with interests in asthma, atopic dermatitis (eczema), and chronic urticaria (hives). She enjoys taking care of both adult and pediatric patients.
Kristyl Cuenca-Sisko has been working alongside the team at NYAllergy and Sinus Centers since July of 2011. She has worked specifically in the field of allergy, asthma & immunology for the past decade. Kristyl holds a P.A. degree from the Wagner College/ Staten Island University Hospital Physician Assistant Program and is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. She has extensive experience in the field of allergy, asthma & immunotherapy with a passion for patient education. Kristyl has also worked in pediatrics/adolescent health and internal medicine. She is an Allied Healthcare Member of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology, Fellow Member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and a Sustaining Member of the New York State Society of Physician Assistants.
Toni Santiago is a registered and certified Physician Assistant who joined NY Allergy & Sinus Center in 2008. Toni became a Physician Assistant in 1998 through the program at Sisters of Charity Medical Center, NY. She has also served as an adjunct assistant professor with the Physician Assistant programs at St. Vincent’s Medical Center, Pace University-Lenox Hill Hospital, and at Touro College School of Health Science. Prior to joining NY Allergy & Sinus Center, Toni served as a Physician Assistant in the general surgery department at Lutheran Medical Center. During her precious down time, Toni enjoys camping and taking family trips with her husband and her three children. Toni finds helping patients with seasonal and food allergies extremely rewarding , as she has first-hand experience at home with her three children who also live with anaphylactic food allergies.
Sara Lynn Sterling is a registered physician assistant at NY Allergy & Sinus Center. Sara Lynn was raised in Kansas City, Missouri and began her education at Truman State University. After graduation, she gained experience working with patients in a cardiac intensive care unit in Minneapolis. Sara Lynn continued her professional education at Midwestern University located in Chicago. After obtaining her masters degree in physician assistant studies, Sara Lynn moved to Brooklyn and began working at NY Allergy and Sinus Center. Sara Lynn’s professional interests include pediatric medicine and asthma management. She also enjoys traveling, photography, and spending time with family and friends.
Allison Glaser is a registered Physician Assistant and joined NY Allergy & Sinus Center in 2012. As a graduate of the University of Maryland in 2008, she was excited to pursue her lifelong dream of a career in medicine. Allison completed her training at Touro College School of Health Sciences in NY, and completed a Masters of Physician Assistant Studies. She is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants. Interested in allergy, dermatology, and family medicine, Allison was eager to join a team of professionals at NYASC who dedicate their lives to practicing medicine and promoting health for children and adults. Living in NYC, she enjoys taking advantage of what the city has to offer, as well as spending time with family and friends.
Joanna Esterow is a certified Physician Assistant who received her degree from Hofstra University in New York. She has studied various fields of medicine since earning her degree, including allergy & immunology, gastroenterology, pain medicine and integrative medicine. Her continual thirst for knowledge has led her to become a holistic health counselor – graduating from the Institute of Integrative Nutrition, where she was lucky enough to experience first hand lectures from the Walter Willet, Andrew Weil, and Deepak Chopra to name a few. She is continually learning and adapting her "practice" of medicine to benefit her patients and community.
Christina Bongiorno is a registered and certified physician assistant. She attended New York University where she graduated with a bachelor's degree in psychology. After college she gained experience at an Ear, Nose, and Throat practice before studying for her master's degree at Chatham University in Pittsburgh, PA. Christina's primary interests are pediatric medicine and dermatology. She is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants as well as the Society for Physician Assistants in Pediatrics.
Gwendolyn Cunningham recently joined the NYASC practice in March 2014 as a Physician Assistant. Gwen originally earned her degree as a Physician Assistant at Stony Brook University in New York, in 2006. Before joining the NYASC team, Gwen has previously worked for eight years as a PA in various fields, including General Surgery and Emergency Medicine at Queens Hospital Center, and in Oncology and Internal medicine at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital. She is particularly passionate about patient education and ensuring patients get answers to their questions. Outside of work, she also enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, running, volunteering in her local community in Brooklyn, and gardening.
Susan Bulger joined the company in January of 2014 and is responsible for management of the staff, general business operations, support and growth of the practice. She graduated with a B.S. in Business Administration, with a concentration in Management Information Systems. She comes to NYASC with experience as a systems analyst, advisor in the insurance industry, and practice manager of a multi office medical practice. She is working closely with the staff to streamline procedures in order to increase efficiency, productivity and improve the overall patient experience.
Susan Ehrenreich has been working with Dr. Nejat since the inception of New York Allergy and Sinus Centers. She has been managing the practice for over 15 years. Her past experiences include Human Resource Management and Director of Facilities. Susan graduated from Queens College with a degree in Medical Management. Her experiences are wide ranging from Human Resources to Operations Management. Susan’s vast knowledge of management and her rapport with vendors and her passion to help patients have helped to make New York Allergy as successful as it is today.
