Sublingual Allergy Drops
No Shots, No Problem!
Many patients are switching to this at home & pain free option for allergy treatment. If a few drops under the tongue sounds better than allergy shots, here’s what you need to know.
- Sublingual drops are not FDA approved. It is important to review with your doctor if you are a good candidate for this therapy.
- In terms of safety, sublingual drops have a lower risk of sever allergic reactions, making them a preferred option for some patients.
- Patients commonly experience mild swelling or itching of lips, tongue, and throat in the first few doses of treatment.
- These are usually out of pocket monthly costs, depending on if your plan has a high out of pocket expense or copay this may be comparable.
- Not all sublingual is the the same! Many on the market offer below standard therapy, make sure to review with your provider that your are reaching an appropriate dose.
